Many of the young people in our custody have a history of trauma, abuse and neglect and can demonstrate violent and challenging behaviour. Our youth justice workers provide supervision, act as role models and mentors, assist with education, rehabilitation, with the aim of the young people becoming positive contributing members of our society into adulthood. Your responsibilities Maintaining the safety and security of the youth justice custodial precinct Managing any challenging behaviours of vulnerable and hostile young people Being aware of the needs of people from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds Conducting searches, counts, admissions and supervise visits Do you have what it takes? We recruit from a diverse range of backgrounds and trades no relevant experience or qualifications are required. You do not need to be of a particular height, strength, or physique to apply. The job requires a level of fitness, where you also need to fit within the healthy BMI range. Individuals who have worked in industries such as trades, farming, construction, hospitality, retail and security are now high performing members of our team.
